Sales from NFT series featuring exclusive perks will help drive financing and launch new sci-fi film trilogy into production
TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / August 4, 2022 / Mogul Productions, an innovative DeFi and NFT marketplace platform looking to drive positive change in the entertainment industry by transforming how movies are funded, is launching a new NFT collection to finance "Retrogression", an upcoming blockbuster sci-fi film trilogy.
Mogul is partnering with acclaimed filmmaker Anthony Hayes for the one-of-a-kind NFT series launch called "The Dark Army" ahead of the release of the planned trilogy. Hayes is the Producer/Director of GOLD starring Zac Efron, which is out around the World now. As an actor he has starred inWAR MACHINE with Brad Pitt, THE ROVER with Robert Pattinson, LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS with Michael Fassbender and ANIMAL KINGDOM with Joel Edgerton.
The world of Retrogression is a dark dystopian sci-fi epic set 300 years in the future, a world where The Dark Army polices slave factories on an island called Omega, where the poor are forced into labor producing goods for the rich. The Dark Army NFT series draws inspiration from these enforcers on Omega's ravaged landscape.
Proceeds from the NFT sale will be used to fund the film's production, with a host of perks included for community members who join in the sale. The NFT series launch aligns with Mogul's mission to empower filmmakers to have greater financial and creative autonomy and give its community of film superfans a voice in the production process.
Rare-tier Dark Army NFTs will grant the holder exclusive perks, such as an Executive Producer credit on the first Retrogression feature film. Other rare NFTs in the collection will entitle the holder to unique experiences like an on-set visit during production, or even the chance to appear as a featured player in the film. But even the most common NFTs in the series provide groundbreaking utility for holders, including beta testing passes to play the upcoming Retrogression game, a digital image of a costume from the film, exclusive behind-the-scenes access, and much more.
The Dark Army collection will be launched on the Ethereum blockchain as ERC-721 tokens, and purchasable in either Ethereum or ERC-20 STARS tokens. The minting process will be a "lazy mint", with each NFT minted completely randomly using Chainlink's provably fair minting system, which is integrated into the Mogul platform. This gives all buyers an equal opportunity to score a super-rare NFT.
The collection will be limited to 1,530 NFTs, with the rarest of all, Dark Army leader General McKinsky, being limited to just 10 in each color. Each NFT in the collection will have additional utility built in, enabling future integration as character avatars into various metaverses where the Retrogression P2E gaming experience will be hosted.
Additional information on the launch and the Retrogression series can be found here.

Love him or hate him, one thing you can say about Tesla boss Elon Musk is that he's never boring. After his months-long campaign (with much of it conducted in public tweets) to buy Twitter for $44 billion followed by a withdrawal of the bid (which Twitter sued him for), some on social media have questioned his choices. While Musk is considered a genius by some and a loose cannon by others, one thing for sure is that people are typically interested in what he has to say, whether its about the future of travel with Tesla's ultra-modern Cybertruck or his Boring Company hyperloop rail system project.
